6:25 AM: The first BART trains are running on schedule this morning after a trackside equipment problem that delayed trains system wide during Tuesday’s commute was apparently repaired overnight, a dispatcher said.

A computer problem affected the tracks just south of Balboa Park station starting at about 2:30 p.m., BART spokesman Linton Johnson said, causing 10 to 15 minute delays on East Bay bound trains until the end of
daily service.

7 AM (EB): Of course, no sooner had we published that report than we heard that BART was experiencing delays at Balboa Park after an equipment problem. However, as of 7, BART says “BART is recovering from an earlier problem. There is a 15-minute delay at Balboa Park in the East Bay direction due to an equipment problem on the track.”

Johnson said service in the East Bay was also briefly affected by a report of a robbery at a Subway restaurant at the 19th Street station in Oakland. The robbery was reported at 5:32 p.m. and the station was shut down for eight minutes.

All trains were running on time as of 4:30 a.m., BART dispatch said.
