gavin3d.jpgHey, remember those surprisingly swiftly booked up meetings* with the Mayor?

Well, I’ll remind you: Back in February, Gavin announced that he was taking 15-minute meetings with members of the public to talk about, well, what they want to talk with him about. People just like you and me (but more like you — these meetings are for citizens to discuss their concerns, not the media) met with him to talk about/vent on all sorts of stuff — crime, housing, hot dog toppings.

The last set of meetings were all taken up within 20 minutes of their announcement, Mayoral spokesperson Brian Purchia told the Appeal, which might be one of the reasons the Mayor’s office has turned to a lottery system for the next round of meetings, scheduled for Thursday, April 8 in the Excelsior and West Portal.

Here’s how it works: email Gavin at gavin.newsom@sfgov.org or call the Mayors Office of Neighborhood Services at 415-554-6683 with an appointment request by April 5th. That day they’ll be draw names and notify the lucky winners. Woohoo!

Are you going to enter to win 15 minutes in heaven with the Mayor? What would you talk to him about?

*oh god what a phrase. Damn you, free Public House drinks. Damn you to hell.
