usps1.gifSelect Bay Area post offices will be open late April 15 to accommodate those filing federal tax returns at the last minute.

Federal and state tax forms for 2009 are best filed before the April 15 midnight deadline, but the U.S. Postal Service is offering extended hours for last-minute filers who can’t get it together before then.

In San Francisco, a U.S. Post Office at 1300 Evans Ave. will have window hours until 8:30 p.m. and curbside drop-off services until 10 p.m.

On the Peninsula, the Redwood City Main Post Office at 1100 Broadway will extend window hours until 7 p.m.

And for the worst stragglers, the Airport Station Post Office at 660 West Field Road will offer window services as well as curbside drop-off services until midnight.

Hours of individual post offices can be found at www.usps.com or by calling (800) ASK-USPS.
