7:30 AM: As the Examiner reported, a driver at Sunset and Rivera was making a turn when he reportedly struck a teenaged female pedestrian in the crosswalk. She was hospitalized, but her injuries are reportedly non-life-threatening. A commenter on the Examiner story, charmingly named “podzhopnik” said

“that intersection does not have a stoplight only a sign that pedestrians have right of way. Unfortunately, the flow of traffic at that hour is heavy and people are too sleepy to notice kids, who dress darkly, hiding behind a streetlight post. The kids should really cross at the next intersection with a stoplight. Got to use common sense!”

However, a look at the intersection on google street view shows stoplights, so, someone find a press and stop it, A COMMENTER WAS WRONG.
