12:56 PM: More reports rolling in from San Franciscans who felt this offshore NorCal quake: Chandini Davis felt it at Franklin and Sacramento and Amber Gregory says her husband and cat felt it.

This is as good a time as any to remind people that the USGS Did You Feel It? map needs your input — letting them know where you felt it helps them with their valuable research.

How about you? Did you feel it?

Up in Eureka, which was far closer to the quake, no injuries, power outages, or real damage has been reported yet.

12:44 PM: Our Twitter Pal, Brian Yaeger, says “My fiance asked if we just had an earthquake a while ago. I said no. She’s amazing. (And yes, we live in SF)” So, that’s one San Franciscan who heard something. Also, Brian, never lie to that woman — she will KNOW.

As you might recall, a 6.5 quake in that same area caused damage and knocked out services to thousands on January 9th. We’re still awaiting reports on damage this time around.

12:31 PM: Twitter user Amber Gregory points out to us that the USGS has now upgraded the quake to a 6.0 magnitude. We’re still not hearing any reports of folks who felt it in SF, did you?

12:25 PM: Twitter people based in the Humboldt/Eureka area are saying that they felt an earthquake at about 12:23 this afternoon.
The USGS confirms that a 5.4 quake struck “offshore Northern California” at 12:20, at an offshore location about 47 miles from Eureka.

No reports so far of anyone feeling it in SF — did you?
