The National Weather Service has issued a high-surf warning for Bay Area coastlines until 10 p.m. today, and Bay City News is saying that “Powerful waves are expected to batter local shorelines, and strong rip currents are anticipated.”

Between that and the shit in the water, maybe today’s not the day to take a dip?

In any case, current measurements off the coast indicate swells of 16 to 18 feet, which are expected to decrease slightly tonight, according to the weather service.
