Good day from the Richmond!

Like the rest of the city, we’ve been riding out this schizophrenic weather. What I wouldn’t give for a nice, predictable patch of fog right now…

Feeling saucy and naughty? Head over to the 4-Star Theater tonight for Shanty Tramp (1967), a B-movie classic about a local tramp who “heads out for adventure and leaves disaster in her wake”. The radio promo for it is priceless.

Safeway shared its latest plans for the expansion of their outer Richmond store at Fulton and La Playa. What’s in store? Lots of glass, aluminum, and earth tones, and architecture inspired by the Cliff House and Sea Ranch.

In other architectural news, the SF Botanical Garden announced the winning design from their Gondwana Circle competition. Think Stonehenge but on a different scale. And if you’re still wondering what Gondwana is, then you surely must click.

I’ll leave you with a new history minute from Woody LaBounty of outsidelands.org. You know the OfficeMax at Geary and Arguello? Some may remember it being a car dealership but before that, it had a more interesting history. Find out in the video below.

Have a great weekend everyone!
