2:05 PM: The year’s first homicide victim has been identified as Jose Luis Hernandez-Gomez, a 19 year old who died of gunshot wounds in the Excelsior district early Sunday morning.
The man was originally thought to be in his 20s, and was found on the 500 block of Naples Street.
No arrests have been made and witnesses or anyone with information can contact the San Francisco Police Department at (415) 575-4444 or text-a-tip to “tip411”.
4:41 PM: The Chronicle offers some more personal details on Hernandez-Gomez, including that he was a day laborer who had been in the city for about four months. Police have used his work permit and cell phone to glean some information about him, but are hopeful to learn more.
