A group of restaurants and wine importers in the Bay Area are raising money for survivors of Tuesday’s 7.0-magnitude earthquake in Haiti near Port-au-Prince with a fundraising event at a restaurant in San Francisco’s Presidio on Monday.

.
Attendees will be encouraged to write checks directly to four different aid organizations, Ronquillo said. The suggested donation is $50 to $100. Cash and credit card donations cannot be accepted.

Proceeds from the event will go directly to Doctors Without Borders and Partners in Health, two medical humanitarian organizations, as well as Sirona Cares Foundation, a San Francisco-based nonprofit that was working in Haiti for a year prior to the earthquake, and the American Red Cross.

Representatives from some of the groups will be available to discuss their work.

Ronquillo works at Vinos Unico, a wine distributor that will be contributing to the event. He said Los Altos-based Blue Danube Wine Co., and Siena Imports and International Vineyards, both located in San Francisco, have also offered their products for the event.
The fundraiser is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Presidio Cafe, located at 300 Finley Road.
