A 25-year-old motorcyclist who was killed this morning in what appears to have been a solo-vehicle crash in unincorporated Contra Costa County has been identified by the coroner’s office as San Francisco resident Adrian Valderrama.

California Highway Patrol units responded to Interstate Highway 80 just west of the Carquinez Bridge to reports of a motorcycle crash at around 2:35 a.m., CHP Officer Robert Haven said.

Valderrama was traveling east when he crashed near the Pomona Street off-ramp.

A preliminary report indicates that no other vehicles were involved, Haven said, though the crash is still under investigation.
