Tipsters and Twitter are reporting serious delays on inbound and outbound Muni Metro lines this morning, and 511 says that “SF Muni Outbound trains delayed thru subway after Van Ness…due to ongoing equipment problems at Van Ness station.”

511 says that this issue started at 9:30, and is causing trains to run “slower than normal.”

However, a tipster we trust a great deal tells us that he was “booted off an L-Taraval at West Portal; shuttles were running.”

We haven’t heard word one from Muni on this — perhaps they’re prepping for the big meeting at 10 today in which service slashes will be discussed? We’ve emailed them anyway, in hopes that they can tell us what’s going on.

As our tipster wisely noted, “I’d say the service slash has already started.”
