San Francisco police arrested a man late Tuesday after he allegedly attempted to flee a traffic stop and dragged an officer 75 feet down the road, police said.

Officers pulled over Victor Corbet, 31, at about 10:10 p.m. at Third Street and Fitzgerald Avenue in the Bayview District, police spokesman Sgt. Wilfred Williams said.

A computer check revealed Corbet had a warrant out for his arrest, and when officers tried to arrest him, he allegedly resisted, started the car and drove off, dragging one of the officers about 75 feet, according to Williams.

Police pursued Corbet’s car and were able to arrest him a few blocks away near the Alice Griffith housing projects, Williams said.

Corbet was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault against a police officer, evading police and resisting arrest.

The officer who was dragged was taken to the hospital, treated for minor injuries and released.
