SFPD’s planning DUI checkpoints tonight (Friday) and tomorrow nights to, according to a release sent to the press “to kick off a 17-day winter holiday crackdown on drunk drivers.” The rest of the year it is fine to drive drunk, of course!*

No word on what time tonight’s crackdown will begin, but Saturday’s will run from 8 PM to 1 AM. Before you ask, no, we don’t know where.

Additional checkpoints are scheduled for December 27 and January 3, and they also say that “DUI saturation patrols” will also be operated “several times during the holidays.”

And it’s not just the city streets that are on High Booze Alert: the release also says that “California Highway Patrol officers from San Francisco and Marin county offices will saturate the freeways around Christmas and New Year’s Day.”

This is where, if we were Fresh Off The Online Boat, we’d write that helpful final graf about how you shouldn’t drive drunk, blah blah blah. But, come on, you know that! But now, you also know that you have a greater chance of getting caught for the next few weeks. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

*Jesus Christ, I’m kidding. NO IT IS NOT.
