Santa Rosa police said two people were arrested Monday on suspicion of shooting a man in the 2300 block of Steele Lane early this morning.

Jakoby Edwin Javius, 34, of San Francisco and Jeannine McKee, 24, of Novato, were arrested for attempted murder during a traffic stop in Novato. They were expected to be booked in the Sonoma County jail, Sgt. Lisa Banayat said.

Police received a call around 12:25 a.m. of shots fired in the 2300 block of Steele Lane, Banayat said. Officers found a trail of blood but did not find a victim or suspects.

Police were notified by a local hospital a few minutes later that a gunshot victim had arrived in the emergency room where the Santa Rosa man was treated for multiple non-life threatening wounds, Banayat said.

Police conducted surveillance at several locations outside Sonoma County before Javius and McKee were arrested in Novato, Banayat said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call (707) 543-3590.
