Well, hi there, elephant!

Let’s face it: here in San Francisco, the hub of digital music worldwide, most of us ladies are well aware that there aren’t many females in Chief Executive Officer roles.

Or maybe we aren’t looking.

Meet San Franciscan and digital music chief executive Bryn Boughton, role model for the ladies if you need one – yes, there’s a bad ass femme exec in digital music-town. Bryn is the tireless & passionate Founder & CMO at digital distributor IRIS (Independent Recording Industry Services) Distribution & Blinker Interactive. She’s spent more than ten years of her life working in, and dedicated to, the business of music and art. She frequently participates as a panelist and speaker at conferences around the world and recently won NARIP’s 2009 Best of the Biz Award as Top New Media Executive. Before starting IRIS Distribution, she worked for The Late Show with David Letterman, Valley Media, Inc., and APG (an independent label group).

IRIS Distribution was founded in 2003 and still thrives as a creative leader for independent digital distribution. The company provides distribution, marketing and legal (!!) services to independent labels around the globe. Recently at IRIS, Bryn exercised her experience implementing integrated music marketing campaigns for both independent and major labels and founded BlinkerActive, the marketing support behind music in the IRIS catalog. Blinker specializes in cutting-edge branded entertainment and music promotion. In other words: the future.
