When the Mayor’s office sent us a release saying

Mayor Newsom to Announce Innovative Program to Finance City’s Next Wave of Renewable Energy, Energy/Water Efficiency and Green Jobs 1314 7th Avenue @ Judah

Appeal photographer Matt Ghali joked “Is he appearing in someone’s back yard?” My far less amusing idea: Pasquales Pizza to offer New “Green” Pie.

We were both wrong, as that address is actually a model home for the SFPUC’s conservation program, and the event was to pimp this program (we’d have linked to the Mayor’s site but we can’t get the full release to load):

The new San Francisco Sustainable Financing Program (SF2) and San Francisco Sustainable Financing Special District allows building owners to access affordable, city-sponsored financing for energy efficiency, renewable energy and water conservation improvements. The repayment obligation will be attached to the property, rather than the individual, and will be paid back through property taxes over the life of the financing.

Which sounds good, I guess? Property owners, what do you think?

More importantly, Matt shot the event, getting the series above that we’re calling The 100 Faces Of Gavin. And, Rita, did you notice: blue tie!
