Three Concord men have been charged in a December 12 armed robbery of a cab driver that led to a gunfire-peppered chase through SF city streets.

Our story begins on the 700 block of Arguello St, when a cab driver waiting for a fare was approached by two men who demanded moneyh at gunpoint.

The cab driver complied, and the suspects reportedly fled in a waiting car driven by a third man. The cab driver followed the vehicle as he called 911 (we do not recommend either following your robbers or dialing the phone while driving! Just so we’re clear!), even as the suspects reportedly SHOT AT HIM during the pursuit.

According to the SFPD, responding police officers Perez and Reyes stopped the car, discovering two loaded handguns and a stun gun. Two suspects, Darnell Hester (31) and Douglas Dennett (20) of Concord, were arrested at that time, but a third suspect somehow managed to elude them.

But not for long! The SFPD says that Sergeants Tracy Boes and Scott Warnke identified the third suspect, Daniel Hester (25, and reportedly Darnell’s brother), after he was recently arrested in Concord by San Francisco police officers.

They’ve since been charged with robbery, attempted homicide, possession of stolen property, and various firearm charges.
