Watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade and seeing the NYPD marching band, I wondered, does SFPD have a band or any other official auxiliary arms?

The SFPD doesn’t have a marching band, but they do have a line lion dance team! Officer Chan told me that the Asian Peace Officer’s Association‘s line lion dance team performs several times throughout the year. You can catch them at the city’s annual Chinese New Year Parade, during which officers will also carry a giant dragon through the streets of Chinatown. For information on other APOA line lion dancing events, call (415) 308-6543.

UPDATE: Thanks, antfaber. And, um, my bad.
