Well, it’s official. Thanksgiving’s over, and whether you la-la-love the holidays or hate the season for any of various social/political/practical reasons, you can’t avoid it. The good cheer will find you.

Call me a contributor to the premature madness, but I couldn’t help but post San Franciscan indie-rock quartet My First Earthquake‘s love-hate ode to wintertime. The lyrics in “Fa La Freezing” say “Bah, humbug!” while the chipper hook is catchier than that swine flu. (Huzzah, overused topical reference … ) It’s basically a cheeky alternative to all that other sap assaulting your ears from literally everywhere right now.

The sort of adorable video made the rounds last year, but hey, you always pull out the same old Christmas records anyway, don’t you? Plus, these guys are playing a show at the Rickshaw Stop this Wednesday. Toasty!
