Two of the Appeal’s accomplished contributors have exciting things going on this week, you should definitely check out both of them:

Tonight, Beth Spotswood is celebrating her “Soberversary” (that is, the one-year anniversary of her sobriety) at Rye from 6-9 tonight. Rumor has it that she’ll be reading a selection from her upcoming memoir at around 7, and Brock and I have already agreed that every time we want to burst into proud, happy tears, we’re going to do a shot. So we expect to be shitfaced by 7:05! She encourages all of you to attend, as do we.

Tuesday, another Appeal contrib, Violet Blue, will be appearing on Oprah. Check your local listings (if you have Comcast in SF, it’s on channel 7 at 4 PM) and set your DVRs to see Violet talk about “why more and more women are looking at pornography.” And we said, “appearing,” not “skyping in.” VB is there, in person, with the big O! Suck it, Gate commenters.
