Friend of the Appeal raqcoon sent over this video he took yesterday, saying, “apparently, sea lions are invading Fisherman’s Wharf, and for the first time ever, I witnessed sea animal control in action just east of Pier 39. It’s the almighty “Pier Protector,” going one-on-one with the invaders!”

Appeal contributor Jackson West has proposed another approach to our sea lion (and budget) issues, saying “Could the city cash in on one of its more popular natural attractions? …why not open up a blubbery brothel?”

Hmm, maybe the Steve Irwin wannabe in that video isn’t keeping the sea lions off the piers, as much as protecting them from our cycling columnist?
