The U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels are scheduled to fly in formation into San Francisco International Airport this morning, days before the city’s annual Fleet Week celebration officially kicks off.

The precision flight demonstration team is expected to land at the airport at about 10:10 a.m. and will be conducting practice flights Thursday and Friday.

Fleet Week brings together the U.S. Navy, Marines Corp and Coast Guard to offer air shows, ship tours, a parade and festivals, according to the event Web site.

The two-day Fleet Week Air Show will be held Saturday and Sunday.

Fleet Week 2009 will also feature a parade of U.S. Navy ships along the San Francisco waterfront as well as ship tours.

A full list of Fleet Week events is available online at http://fleetweek.us/fleetweek.

All flights are subject to cancellation or change due to weather.
