A construction worker fell off scaffolding this morning in San Francisco’s Mission District but was not seriously injured, San Francisco fire Lt. Ken Smith said.

The worker had been on the scaffolding at about 9:10 a.m. at 3570 21st St. when he stepped on an unsecured board and dropped about 12 feet, Smith said.

He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of neck and back pain, but his injuries did not appear to be serious, Smith said.
