The Golden Gate Bridge has reopened to pedestrians after heavy wind gusts temporarily prompted a closure of the bridge’s sidewalks this afternoon.
Bridge spokeswoman Mary Currie said the bridge was closed to pedestrians at 3 p.m. and reopened at about 4:45 p.m. Bicyclists never lost access because many of those attempting to cross the bridge are commuting.
The bridge’s sidewalks will remain open until 9 p.m., Currie said.
