Tonight’s lone fall premiere is “Private Practice” on ABC at 10 P.M. Last season ended with a humdinger of a cliffhanger. Violet, Amy Brenneman’s character, was about to have her baby sliced out of her by Felicty’s goth roommate (Amanda Foreman).

There was other stuff about Addison having an affair with the husband of one of her patients, and probably some things with the other characters, but who cares because, dude! C-section by force! Freaky! Tonight’s premiere is titled “A Death In the Family,” but you know how these things go. Amy Brenneman isn’t going anywhere, and it seems unlikely they’d kill off a baby. Maybe they’re talking about “the death of innocence.” Or maybe someone’s parakeet dies. Tune in tonight and find out!
