Police in San Francisco’s Ingleside and Taraval neighborhoods are looking for a suspicious man who they say has approached female middle school students at least twice in recent weeks.

Ingleside police Capt. David Lazar said it’s believed the same man approached girls on Sept. 9 and Sept. 14 in his district.

“He asks girls to get in his car, he tries to befriend them, he tries to get their name,” Lazar said, adding that the girls did not know him at all.

According to Lazar, the girls were approached in the afternoon as they were leaving school.

Taraval police have also reported at least one suspicious occurrence involving the man.

The suspect is described as Filipino man in his early to mid-30s, with dark complexion and acne. On one occasion he was wearing a white shirt.

He was seen driving a white, late-1990s model four-door Ford Taurus without hubcaps. The license plate may start with “6JUY.”

Anyone who sees the suspect or any similar suspicious activity is asked to call 911.
