A tipster just alerted us that a SMS notification just went out to students of San Bruno’s Skyline College: “Active shooter at Skyline. Take safe cover immediately. Classes closed for the rest of the day.”

A note on the school’s homepage reads “Emergency Notification: We have had a shooting on campus and are now in lockdown. Please shelter in place, away from windows, with doors shut until further notice. We are sending an emergency text message to all students.”

A call to the college gets you a recorded message that makes the same statement as above.

A San Bruno police department representative told us that “all we know now is that an incident took place, the school was on lockdown, now it’s being evacuated.” According to the the Merc , a student was shot in the back and ass in Parking Lot 7 of the school, but is “conscious and breathing” and has been transported to SF General.

Witnesses reported seeing “four young men, one of whom had a handgun” who might have gotten into a purple or black car.
