A 43-year-old woman was sentenced in federal court in San Francisco Thursday to eight years in prison for robbing a bank in the city in 2008, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Elisa Lipkins had been in a halfway house finishing a 70-month prison sentence for a 2004 bank robbery in San Francisco when she robbed a Bank of America in the Laurel Village neighborhood on Dec. 23.
Lipkins used a note to threaten a bank teller and bank employees believed she had a gun or other weapon in her jacket pocket, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. She made off with $7,020.
She was sentenced to eight years in prison by U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker and will be on supervised release for three years after completing the sentence, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
