On hearing that your little cardboard FastPasses were on the way out, y’all posed some interesting points.

First, hint: don’t rquire sign up for comments said “hint: don’t rquire sign up for comments.” To which we respond: THANKS FOR THE HINT. And, also: oh wow sorry for the inconvenience here let us get you a refund.

SFresident, who somehow managed to get past the horrible imposition of comment registry, asked:

But are they going to put translink on cable cars? One of the fun perks of the fast-pass was the included cable car rides. The California line is usually the quickest MUNI line from the ferry plaza to nob hill – if they don’t allow translink fast passes on these cars they’ll be significantly reducing their functionality…

So Chris Roberts, reporter for that story (did you know you can help subsidize his work on the Appeal? Well you can. Just saying.) asked MTA spokesperson Judson True about this. Via email True told Chris:

We are still working to install TransLink on cable cars and we have not plans to phase out the ability to use the existing Fast Pass on cable cars without having an equivalent alternative.

So, looks like they’re at least thinking about this, but we’ll keep you posted. Until then, if you see evidence of TransLink action on the Cable Cars, let us know!
