San Francisco police are investigating the death of a woman found Wednesday night inside her car in the Mission Bay neighborhood as a homicide.

Police spokesman Sgt. Wilfred Williams said the woman was found inside her Pontiac Aztec sport utility vehicle at about 9:45 p.m. in the 800 block of Terry A. Francois Boulevard.

The street runs along the San Francisco Bay waterfront south of AT&T Park and just east of the University of California at San Francisco’s Mission Bay campus.

The medical examiner identified the woman this afternoon as 32-year-old Ena Canales of San Francisco.

Williams said police are not at this time releasing information about how Canales may have been killed, or any possible suspects in the case.

The medical examiner has not confirmed a cause and manner of death.

No arrests have been made in the case, Williams said.
