If these pictures look familiar, that’s because we ran them over a month ago when Plug1 first reported the broken ticket machine. It has been 38 days since then, and MUNI has yet to address the problem.
The question now is whether or not it will ever get fixed. With the news that the MTA will be replacing all fare gates next year, it’s not unthinkable that they might forgo repair of the broken ticket machine, and perhaps subsequent ticketing malfunctions all together.
I sent an email to Judson True to clarify MUNI’s plans. He tells us he’s looking in to it, so we’ll report back when we hear more.
