As many as four people were injured in San Francisco early this morning in a solo vehicle crash in the city’s Park Merced district, police said.

Officers responded to a reported crash at around 1:30 a.m. on Brotherhood Way between state Highway 1 and Lake Merced Boulevard, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

Preliminary reports indicate the driver of a two-door vehicle carrying as many as three passengers lost control, causing the car to slide sideways and strike a tree on its passenger side.

Extrication equipment was employed, and all of the vehicle’s occupants were taken to hospitals, police said.

Further details regarding the condition of the victims was not immediately available, and the cause of the crash was still under investigation.
