A bold and valiant experiment, the Culture Bus is a $7 bus ride to a couple of SF museums.

After having its service pared back at the beginning of the year, Muni is finally putting this pet (project) down on Saturday, August 15, at 6 PM, according to 311 and the MTA site.

We hope you’ll join us to send it on its way by riding it one, first, time?

What: Join the Appeal and friends as we ride the Culture Bus’ last ride

When: Saturday, August 15th, at 3:45. We’ll ride the 4 PM CB on its merry route to New Montgomery, then back again. Your ticket is good for unlimited travel in any direction between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the date of issue, so no need for a transfer!

Where: Meet up at the Golden Gate Park Academy of Science inbound stop at 3:45 on Saturday the 15th, or catch up with us anywhere on the route. (For example, Brock Keeling says he’ll meet us at New Montgomery.)

Cash fare for the Culture Bus is $7 (exact change only), or $3 with current FastPass. The Culture Bus also accepts TransLink. OR is it $10, $5 with a FastPass? Updated: Fare is $10, $5 with FastPass, and TransLink usability is not confirmed.

It goes without saying that we at the Appeal expect anyone coming on this ride to observe Muni rules at all times. Don’t be a tool on the bus!
