taravalstation.gifThe members of the Taraval Police Station mourn the deaths of two active duty police officers, Officer Laurence Lynch of Mission Station and Officer Michael Walsh of Ingleside Station.

Officer Lynch’s funeral service was this morning at St. Gabriel’s Church.

Officer Walsh’s funeral service is at St. Ignatius Church on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 10:00 am.

May they rest in peace.

Taraval Officers Arrest Roof Top Graffiti Suspect in West Portal—See Below.

ARRESTS:

07/06/09 1:40 am 200 block of West Portal

Officers Andrew Bryant, Peterkent DeJesus, Jeffrey Fortuno, William Derro, Wayne Wong and Norman Lee responded to a report from residents that someone was on the roof of 260 West Portal. When the officers arrived they noticed a woman across the street apparently waiting for someone. She was evasive about her actions and was detained. The officers gained entry to the building and located the woman’s companion hiding on the roof and in possession of various spray cans. They also observed that the overhanging billboard had been the victim of graffiti matching the spray can colors. The roof climber, who lives on the 500 block of Dellbrook, was arrested for malicious mischief and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. Case #090685775

Officer Darwin Naval investigated a traffic collision. One of the parties, who lives in San Jose, was driving with a suspended license. He was cited and his 1992 GMC was towed. Case #090686046

Officer Lori Peltier stopped a vehicle for a cell phone violation. The driver, who lives in San Jose, was driving with a suspended license. She was cited and her 1995 Volkswagen was towed. Case #090687389
