Update 4:55 PM: Exciting! Former City Desk Newshour star and Chronicle scribe Marisa Lagos just emailed us! “Just saw your post.. .just thought you’d wanna see mine.” was the subject line, the body: a link to this article, an interview she did with Daly. Key points: “his family’s decision to move closer to his in-laws was ‘not contradictory,'” the Daly-Lows are landlords, and Lagos reads the Appeal. What a way to end the week!

1:43 PM: Fingers that have been waiting to wag are definitely a waggin’ as the news about Chris Daly’s two new suburban homes breaks.

Daly is staying in his family’s District 6 condo while his wife and two young children live in Fairfield. (I don’t live with my spouse, either, and I’ll tell ya, it’s the only way to fly — EB) A second home was purchased as an investment, suggesting to many that the longtime tenants’ advocate will soon become a landlord.

For his part, Daly, who declined to speak with the Chronicle (but, if he wanted to talk to us, we certainly wouldn’t say no!), claims on Fog City Journal that being closer to the “multi-generational support” of the kids’ maternal grandparents is a key motivation for the move.
