Just off Powell and Market, the Parc 55 hotel has always been kind of a mystery to us — it’s the place we hurry past on our way to the ATM behind Forever 21, or from the ATM to that Indian place behind Carl’s Junior.

Does this exist in every hotel? A fake room with actors posing as newleyweds, telling you about what a fabulous time they’re having staying at that hotel? SO. WEIRD.

Apparently, its owners just dropped $30M in a “top-to-bottom” remodel.

This week they’ve been having a whole bunch of parties to celebrate the completion of said remodel.

That’s how, he claims, Appeal staffer Matt Baume and SFist editor Brock Keeling ended up at the Parc 55 last night.

Seriously, Matt had no idea what this event, called Fashionably Loud, was.

Here’s how the organizers described it to us beforehand: “Fashionably Loud a stylish evening of fun, fashion and music, tops off the celebration Thursday evening, June 18.”

Matt’s ignorance, of course, didn’t keep him from photographically documenting the shit out of the party.

Take a look at Matt’s pictures to decide if the description they gave us was correct.
