On May 29th, Bay Area columnists are talking about Prop 8 (as expected), the CA budget crisis (as expected), and Charlize Theron.

Mark Morford apologizes on the behalf of California for not overturning Prop Eight, points out that our state is really really big and so it’s hard to have one identity.

City Desk Newshour is ending its almost 30 year long SF run.

Basically, our state budget is fucked.

If we want to understand why it is, we have to understand the state’s road to financial crisis.

However, Susan Kennedy, the Governor’s chief of staff, is “strangely optimistic” about California.

NAACP chairman says Prop 8 is a denial of civil rights.

What’s going to happen to GM?

Charlize Theron is going to Fresno this weekend to participate in a Prop 8 protest. Cool! Will other celebs follow?

Chip Johnson thinks Perata is ready to lead Oakland.
