Of course, you would never, ever even consider driving drunk, so this isn’t information for you. But, in case you have a “friend” who might drink and drive this Saturday night, be aware that the SFPD’s running a DUI and drivers license checkpoint somewhere in the city from 8:30 PM to 3 AM Saturday night.

Where will this checkpoint be? We thought it couldn’t hurt to ask, but, no surprise, they won’t tell us. In our experience, however, these checkpoints seem to be in places where they won’t disrupt traffic overmuch, but where there’s a reasonable expectation of traffic. We’ve seen checkpoints like these around 9th and Lincoln eastbound, out on westbound Geary towards the high teens (by all those Irish bars, natch), and on Gough just past Fell

We’d love to hear where else you’ve seen these checkpoints (or predictions on where they might be) in the comments, but, more importantly, we’d love it if you took a cab or bus to and from your Saturday night activities, just in case.
