Saturday and Sunday: The Cherry Blossom Festival continues this weekend. From 5 AM to 11 PM both days, Post between Fillmore and Laguna and Webster between Sutter and Geary will be closed.

Sunday: The Cherry Blossom Grand Parade (Sulu!) Participants meet up at Civic Center 11:00, with the parade starting at 1:00 PM at McAllister up Polk, then west on Post to Fillmore. While all the intersections along the route will stay open, you can expect delays, and the 2, 21, 47, 3, 22, 49, 5, 31, 19, 38, 76, and, most tragically of all, the CultureBus will feel the parade’s cherry-scented sting.

Saturday: The 96th Anniversary of SFFD Station 28 means the 39 Coit will be rerouted from 2-5:30 PM.

Sunday: Someone once told this correspondent that no issue in recent memory generated more Chronicle Letters to the Editor than the removal of Zippy the Pinhead from its pages. We can only assume that all those writers will be hitting the bricks for the Zippy 5K Run. It starts at 8:30 AM in Golden Gate Park on JFK Drive by the Conservatory of Flowers, heads west by Stow Lake and then return to the Conservatory. They should be done by 10, but in the interim the 44 and CultureBus will be impacted.
